Crossing
The crossing between Den Helder and Texel takes about 20 minutes. On busy days, TESO increases the frequency of sailings. However, during the season and holiday periods, waiting times may occasionally occur during peak traffic. A complete overview of all extra sailings and expected waiting times can be viewed on the TESO website. Depending on the season, schedules on Sundays and public holidays start one or two hours later.
It is not possible to reserve a seat. All tickets are valid for a return crossing. On the return trip (Texel to Den Helder), there is no check and you do not have to show your ticket. Buy your ticket online.
Bicycle rental
As a guest of Texelvakanties, it is possible to hire your bicycles in advance. If you reserve the bikes well in advance, you have the option of having them delivered and collected from your holiday accommodation. The bicycles will then be ready for you upon arrival at your rented accommodation.
Texel e-vignette
Paid parking is available in all villages and at all Texel beaches. This applies from Monday to Sunday from 08:00 to 20:00. With a Texel e-vignette you can park carefree throughout Texel. This is a digital parking card that you can purchase online or at the parking meters (on Texel). You can choose an annual vignette or a weekly vignette. You can also pay by the hour (€ 2.50) using your bank card or credit card. Buy your e-vignette.
Texelhopper
Public transport on Texel consists of a regular bus line (line 28) that runs at fixed times between Veerhaven, Den Burg and De Koog. There are also smaller Texelhopper buses. These vans must be booked at least 30 minutes in advance and take you to and from more than 100 pick-up points on the island.
