Holiday homes by the sea
De Koog is one of the most popular locations for a cottage by the sea on Texel. That is why our range of holiday homes and apartments is located in and around this charming island village. Woods, dunes, sea and beach: you will find it all less than 200 metres from the village centre. De Koog is located northwest of Den Burg, centrally located on Texel, right next to the Dunes of Texel National Park. In addition to accommodation in De Koog itself, we also offer the option of renting a cottage in the dunes.

Villas and apartments by the sea
You go on holiday to relax and enjoy yourself. In our accommodations, you can rest assured that you will be able to do both to the fullest. To start with, you will wake up refreshed every morning thanks to the excellent beds that are standard in every home. In the fully equipped kitchen, you can make a cup of coffee or squeeze an orange, and then enjoy it in peace on the terrace in the morning sun. Depending on the property, our cottages by the sea on Texel offer a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, wellness facilities, play equipment, outdoor kitchen and/or a charging point for electric vehicles. Wi-Fi is, of course, free everywhere.
Island for everyone
A cottage in the dunes of Texel is not only ideal for a romantic weekend for two. You can also treat your children and possibly your dog to a wonderful time there. Texel is a holiday resort where there is plenty to see and do, and everyone can easily find their favourite holiday activity. With children, you can go out and show them how the sea creates land, as in De Hors, or how it can still flow in and out untamed, as we see in De Slufter. And the dog? As long as he can come along, he'll love everything.
Pets Allowed
What could be more relaxing than a holiday in a cottage by the sea on Texel, where your dog is also welcome? It's the perfect opportunity to get some fresh air, walk your pet and socialise with others. There is plenty to do for toddlers, older children and dogs alike. Take your children to cuddle lambs, to Kaap Skil or Ecomare. Not only fun, but also educational. You can enjoy walking your dog on the beach and through the woods. Not only individually, but also in organised groups or in combination with obedience or tracking training.
Parking and public transport
When you rent a cottage in the dunes from us, you can leave your car in the free car park at your accommodation if you want to go to the beach. There are payment machines at all beach entrances, and parking is not free in the villages either. The centre of De Koog is only 500 metres from the beach, so you don't really need your car there. If you want to visit other villages or places of interest, the Texelhopper is an easy alternative. You can travel on it with your regular public transport card. The hopper buses can also be ordered by time and place.
Holidays in nature
When you rent a cottage in the dunes of Texel from us, you are surrounded by nature. You wake up to the sound of the sea and birds singing. A walk or bike ride in the immediate vicinity takes you through leafy forests, wet salt marshes, purple heathlands, wet dune valleys and over high sand dunes. On the other hand, in our beautifully renovated flats on Nieuwlanderweg, you will no longer hear the sea, but your holiday accommodation is located right next to the Waalenburg nature reserve. Waalenburg is the first nature reserve ever purchased by Natuurmonumenten on Texel. It is a beautiful nature reserve to cycle and/or walk through.
Walking and cycling
A holiday in a cottage on Texel by the sea, who doesn't dream of that? Sleeping in, enjoying meals on the terrace, sunbathing, walking, cycling and, if it's not too tiring, visiting a place of interest. You can choose to follow the signposts of the cycle and walking network. What makes a walk or cycle ride just that little bit more exciting is a themed route. For example, past the aviation and war museum and Oudeschild fort. A culinary route past Texel's productive farms is also enjoyable, and if you prefer bird watching and nature, the bird boulevard is sure to appeal to you.
Plenty to do from your holiday home by the sea
When you stay in a cottage by the sea on Texel, it will be tempting to spend whole days on the beach. However, we would like to point out that there is also a wide range of fun and interesting sights to visit inland on Texel. The villages of Den Hoorn and Den Burg are both known for their picturesque churches. The church in Den Hoorn dates from 1425 and was once a sea beacon, while the church in Den Burg can even be climbed. Near Den Burg is the Hoge Berg, a hill formed during the last Ice Age, with its characteristic “tuunwoallen” (dunes).
