Beachcombing

In winter, Texel can be quite stormy! After a heavy north-northwesterly storm, it's really cool to take a walk on the beach. There's a good chance you'll find something beautiful, because plenty of unusual things wash up on Texel's beaches. Take a look at this blog about unusual beach finds. You have to search carefully and have a bit of luck. We call this phenomenon ‘Strandjutten’ (beachcombing). It's a centuries-old tradition here on Texel. When you get home, you can drink a delicious Juttertje (a Texel herbal liqueur) to warm up.
