Hi, I’m Piet Koopman, 56 years old, born and raised on this beautiful island
Most owners and regular guests probably already know me, since I’ve been around here for almost 12 years.
So you could say I’m right at home here and having a great time.
Before I ended up here, I spent 20 years at sea as a fisherman and worked as an all-around upholsterer, lighthouse keeper, and lifeguard
In October 2014, I started as a one-man Technical Services and Landscaping team at Kamperfoelie, which expanded to a two-person team within a year.
Due to the company’s rapid growth and development in recent years, our technical services team has expanded significantly; we’re now a team of four, and my role is Head of Technical Services
As a result, I’m in the office a bit more often these days, planning various projects and setting the direction for the Technical Services team.
It’s very different from how I started out, but this role suits me perfectly, thanks in part to the trust Carmen and Martijn have placed in me.
I think I’ll be around here for quite some time yet.
