Allow us to introduce... Lucie ‘Back to her roots’

Hello, everyone! It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you here. My name is Lucie Dijksterhuis, I am 33 years old and was born and raised in Den Burg. My parents moved from Utrecht to Texel in the 1990s, and I was born shortly afterwards. So I can proudly call myself a true Texel native😉 In 2024, my boyfriend Dylan and I bought a fixer-upper in Den Burg – we have done a lot of renovations, but now we are enjoying it to the fullest.

From an early age, I knew I wanted to work in tourism. A holiday in Greece was the deciding factor, and that's how I got into the business. I chose to study Tourism Management and lived in Alkmaar for four years – a very enjoyable time.

But Texel continued to draw me back. During my studies, I did a summer internship at Camping Kogerstrand, which turned out to be such a great place that I ended up staying there for ten years. I started as an intern and eventually worked my way up to head of reception. It was a time when I learned a lot, both personally and professionally.

After Kogerstrand, I made a detour into the hospitality industry as manager at Brasserie Quinty's in De Koog. I had some wonderful years there too, but tourism remained my great love.

I joined Texelvakanties in November 2024. What started with inspections of our beautiful houses at Villapark Buytenplaats and Natuurvillapark Waalerburght quickly grew into a role in the office and at reception. And that's where I feel completely at home. In addition to guest contact at the desk, by telephone and email, I am currently busy promoting the houses of Texelvakanties and Landhuizen Texel on various booking websites. A great challenge!

In my spare time, I enjoy eating out (preferably with a good glass of wine) and travelling. We put travelling on hold during the renovation, but we have a wonderful trip to Thailand and Vietnam planned for 2026.
