The Pontweg, between the Akenbuurt roundabout and Dorpsstraat, is in need of a major refurbishment. That is why the Municipality of Texel will be working on the road in 2025 and 2026.

The first three phases will be completed in 2025.

In the third phase, five intersections on Pontweg will be made safer for traffic. This will take place in 2026. The intersections that are eligible for this are:

Pontweg – Gerritslanderdijkje-Kogerweg intersection
Pontweg – Californiëweg intersection
Pontweg – Pelikaanweg intersection
Pontweg – Pijpersdijk intersection
Pontweg – Schumakersweg intersection

The municipality of Texel wants to separate clean rainwater from domestic wastewater across the entire island. This requires modifications to the sewer system. To this end, a new rainwater drainage sewer will be installed on Badweg-Nikadel in De Koog in 2026.

Work will start in December 2025 and continue until the end of May 2026. Work will be carried out from Monday to Thursday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Work will be carried out on one section of the street at a time. This will limit any inconvenience. On rare occasions, it may be necessary to close the road completely. Homes will always remain accessible on foot.

In January, February and March 2026, renovation work will once again be carried out on the exterior of Juliana. This includes concrete repairs, new (tilt/turn) windows, new doors, new coating on the balconies and repair of jointing.
